When our time was up, we ordered some of these eSims which cover data and kept our cell service on GoogleFi (you can use any provider). Meet Airalo and Holafly. These are two eSIMs that offer regional, country-specific, or global data packages. For reference: For Airalo, we paid $22USD for 10GB data and a Czech Republic phone line for 30 Days in the EU (paid 2x so $44USD total) For Holafly, we paid $87USD for Unlimited Data & Calls in the EU for 60 days
Both of these providers offer different time frames based on the length of your trip. We used both at the same time just to test! and truthfully, they both work equally and were a breeze to install. Airalo is great because you can download the app and do everything right there, but Holafly requires buying the eSIM on a computer then you get the instructions via email. So if you don't travel with a computer, Airalo is your better option. Here's a little hack I'll share with you that I found to save some money when visiting the EU: download the 10GB, 30 day Czech Republic eSIM from Airalo. It's cheaper than buying a regional EU pass.
